Jace and Seth Backstory

Seth wakes up in the morning, groaning as he remembers that today is the graduation day for the transfer students from the mainland. He quickly gets dressed and goes to the gym where there's been twelve rows of chairs set up, as well as a stage with a podium. As he takes a seat, he feels some nostalgia for some reason.

"The world is such a dark and terrible place. I always expect the worst now, even in you little brother..." Replied Jace, a twinge of sadness in his voice but still deadly serious, "here we are, room 36. I hope your ready to see your father now". Jace slowly pushed open the door to reveal their father, lying in a hospital bed with toobs attatched to almost every part of his body pumping various liquids in and out. Jace still shuddered, seeing him in this state always hurt him no matter how many times he saw it. He was too afraid to see how his brother would take such a sight...

He completely freezes up at looking at his father in a hospital bed, and walks over to the bede, sitting down on a nearby chair. "Can he hear me?" he takes his hand into his fathers, looking down.

Jace placed his hand on Seth's shoulder, "I'm sorry he, he hasn't been able to hear anyone for weeks now. I am afraid it's only a matter of time until..." Jace stops himself, he has come to terms with that fact but he doesn't want to hurt Seth anymore in one day. "You can talk to father, I will wait outside for you. Take your time" said Jace before he made his way outside and sat down in the corridor against the wall, burrying his face into his hands. "I'm sorry Seth, for doing this to you..." whispered Jace to himself...

Seth nods as Jace walks out, and then begins speaking a Christian prayer, before muttering. "You... You abandoned me, and left me with my mother, who became a Refrain addict, you made me ashamed to be a Britannian, but you were the only father I ever had... So, I'm only going to say this once... Thank you." he says before he gets up and slams his hand against the desk.

Jace lifted his head as he heard a loud crash from inside the room and an enormous wave of guilt washed over him. "After all he has suffered, how can i be putting him through even more..."

The door opens slightly, Seth's head pointing out. "Why are you still out here? I think that crash should imply that I'm done with my last words."

"Let's go then" replied Jace as he began to lead Seth out of the hospital and back to the car. "Time to visit yo.. our mother. I have some things to talk to her about. I'm sure you know how to get to your own house?" asked Jace sarcastically as he got in the car, "I hope your good with directions"

Seth begins smiling, and rolls his eyes. "Even though I am disorganized, I'm not that disorganized. And, about the thing you said before, the world may be a dark and sad place, but you just have to wait for the sunrise." He said to him before giving the driver the address and tapping his fingertips on the seat.

"It's good to see there is still some hope in you. I hope it lasts." replied Jace, a soft smile on his face for the first time in months, the last time was when he found a fellow student stuffed in his locker. Luckily it was one Jace found distasteful. "oh well" Jace had chuckled to himself that day, but today was a bit more serious so he remained silent for the rest of the short drive.

He laughs to himself, and as he arrives there, gets out and leaves the door open for him. "You know, you're still as bitter as ever. Tell me, did you expect me to change? I mean, the hope is ingrained in me. Anyway, do you want me to introduce you, or are you still as dramatic as ever?"

"I am actually glad that you havn't." replied Jace, his frustrations with the world and the people around him slowly starting to go away, "Hopefully we can get together a bit more often." Jace turned the corner, his expression once again getting stern and serious "so, we're nearly there right?"

He smiles again, and points towards a run-down apartment. "That's it. Want to go in, or just talk here?"

Jace parked the car and stared at the apartment building absent mindedly before being brought back to reality "Oh, sorry. Yea, let's go in. I want to ask Mum something" replied Jace as he opened the door and got out, before waiting for Seth to follow.

He twitches his fingers, and gets out of the car solemnly, before leading Jace to her room. "Now, you can ask your questions, I'll make you and her a cup of tea, black or white?" he says as he goes to the kitchen.

"Black" yells out Jace as he walks over to the women he once called mother. The edge of his mouth twitching with a sick mix of disgust, pity and grief.
"What have you done to yourself..." whispered Jace as he kneeled beside the her bed, not entirely sure if she could here him or not.

He smiles as he makes a cup of tea, then he hears shouting in the room, and quickly hurries and rushes into the door. 'What the hell is he doing?' he thinks to himself.

"After what you did to my family, how could you just desert us!?" shouted Jace as he stood up, the rage begining to build up inside him. "And then you go on refrain to relive the good memories as you leave Seth all on his own!? How dare you!"
The lady just lied there, deaf to the frustrations and cries to her child. The drug causing its toll on her mind, and even her senses.
"Father did his best to help you! You just ignored all of his attempts to apologise. It wasn't his fault, it was that filthy eleven maid!" Screamed Jace as he kicked over a bed side table, the lamp falling to the ground and shattering. "Why did she have to tear our family apart. And why wouldn't you listen!?" Yelled Jace as he turned to face the women he once known as mother, the tears streaming down his face as the rage began to slowly subside as he forced back into himself. Deep where no one could ever see it again...

He places the cup of tea on the desk, and stands in front of his mother protectively, looking bluntly at Jace. "She can't hear you... There's no reason to keep on doing this to yourself... Jace..."

"pack your bags..." whispered jace as he dropped his head to the ground, his hair falling in front of his eyes and hiding his empty expression.

He looks down at him, surprised. "Hmm? Wait, you mean..."

"Pack your bags!" shouted Jace as he looked up, giving an incredibly dangerous look. His hair was frizzy and his clothes messed up and crinkled, far out of his normal character.
"I'm getting you out of this place. So go, Go! Hurry up and get your things together!"

His eyes widen, he then nods and rushes out of the room, packing the gear he needs, which is barely anything memorial.

Jace began to straighten himself up, brushing his back and straightening his long coat.
"I can't believe you left dad for, this..." sneered Jace as he looked around the poor excuse for a home. "After you broke up our family, you don't deserve to have Seth..."
"Lets get out of here Seth." Jace called out through the apartment as he spun around and began to make his way out, slamming the door to the room behind him.

As he starts leaving the house, he turns back to his mother, and sighs. 'I'll check back in a week, and make an appointment for the Britannian hospital...'he thinks to himself before walking out to where Jace is.

Jace sat in the car as he waited for Seth to hurry up.
"There you are, what took you so long?" asked Jace as he pushed open the door for him.
